Hi again,

going back to Lofoten in August. I was planning the hike to Munkebu from where the Munken was the goal the following morning. However Veinestinden might provide better views. Could you compare the two? Could we set up camp with nice views close to the top os V.st.? Thanks a Lot!

The view is better and the best part of it is that there are very few people going up Veinestinden while they are tons of people going up tu munkan.

You will find many places to set up your camp close to the summit of Veinestinden.

Last thing you should know climbing up to Veinestinden is a littel harder then going to Munkan.

Have a nice trip and post us a picture of "The View" when you come back :D

Is it possible to continue to scramble clockwise from Munken to Veinestinden to Navaren to Reinebringen and make a loop? Looking at panoramas from Munkan it seems straightforward to get to Veinestinden, then a steep scramble to Navaren but then it's a nice gradual descent, back south towards Reinebringen from there. I can't find a photo of the rest of the panorama to the right of what's in this photo though:

Do you happen to have photos of the route? If it's not possible, or it's simply too dangerous, where is the crux that prevents doing the traverse? Thanks

Hei,

On pictures many things seems easy, but in the reality your route could be a remake of "Cliffhanger". If you enjoy life, I would not advise you to try it ;-)

Keep on the safe tracks and have a nice trip to the Lofoten

Hi, I will come back in Lofoten at the end of July.

I'm planning a microadventure from Reine to Reine through differents summits.

I was wondering if it's possible to cross from Munkebu to the path leading to Veinestindent as you can see on the map.

OpenTopoMap says it's possible but I prefer to be sure ;)

Thank you for your answer

Hello,

Helvete is the same hike as Veinestiden.

It is near Munken.

The view from the top of Veinestinden is the most open. But the hike to Munken will give you a very nice view too. And the hike is much easier.

Be careful because there also is a summit named Helvetestinden which is above Bunes/Vinstad (you need to take a boat to reach that hike from Reine).
