Hi All,
We are visiting Lofoten in late July, and heard a whisper that Reinebringen walk might be closed? Is this certain? If so, can anyone suggest another walk with views as good over Reine fjord etc. Thanks in Advance! Andrew
Hello,
You can try to go up to Veinestinden. It is harder and longer, but it is a real hike and with a better view over the same fjord
You can check it her: https://www.rando-lofoten.net/en/helvete-en
Cheers,
M
Apologies if this is a silly question, but I see the time quoted for the Helvete hike is 4-5 hours on this site. Is that 4-5 hours one-way or total return trip?
Thanks in advance. This site is an incredible resource for Lofoten.
Thank you Jeffrey
It is the total time for walking back and forth... without pause. Depending on how fit you are, it could be a bit less of course, but some people might need 6 hours. The first part along the Djupfjord takes time, you have to scramble over rocks and roots, up and down.

Hi there,
I don't know, if the trail to the top is closed, but I observed construction works (on the 12th of June 2019) in the upper section of the path.
They have used a helicopter to carry up some huge boulders to build stairs or a more stable path.
So I think the trail to Reinebringen will be reconstructed within the next 2-3 months and will become more safe.
Greetings
