This is the ideal "base camp" for exploring the northern part of Vågan Island. Its location is also a great base to start the Great Crossing of the Lofoten Islands. Placed in a beautiful environment at the edge of a fjord, Sandsletta with its 22 cabins is much more than a regular campsite. There is a wood-fired sauna and a traditional nordic bath as well. You will find shared kitchens and sanitary facilities (if you are camping or using the more basic cabins). Canoes are available free of charge by the fjord. The campsite's restaurant offers excellent mutton, as the owners are also sheep breeders. Finally and above all, you will find reasonable prices, with a smiling boss and her dynamic team always available. Booking in advance specially for the high season (July / August) is recommended, ideally by phone.
