Hiking to Blåheia

- Type of hike : Go back
- Visibility of the route : good, avreage to poor at some points
- Start/Finish : Coming from Leknes by the coast road, 815, go through the hamlet of Valberg. About 450 m further from the center of the hamlet (1,475 ft) you’ll see a dirt track to the left of the road, closed to traffic by a raiseable gate. It is possible to park to the right, before the gate. Take care not to block access to the track. The trail begins here.
- GPS Point : Start/Finish : N68° 11.770' E13° 56.788'
End of the dirt road, start of the path : N68° 12.487' E13° 56.514'
Summit : N68° 12.737' E13° 58.607' - Note : the path described here does not correspond precisely to the dotted red line on the 1/ 50,000 map of Vestvågøya. The route we’ve chosen to present here takes existing and visible paths that are partially marked out.
This mountain with its cut-off peak looks down on the bay of Skokkevika, its turquoise waters dotted with countless little islands. This is one of the most spectacular parts of Vestvågøya Island and even in all the Lofotens. It’s easy to get to the starting point of the hike along Route 815, it has superb viewpoints and a fairly easy trail to follow, yet few hikers come to this place.
